Well when you take people like Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz who are one man one guitar kind of artists, it kills this kind of music. Often, purity is overexcersised to the point where it becomes almost too catchy, attractive, and the same. So I can see where TheTexanAtheist is coming from.

I think hey you can write a great song but you don`t have a great voice ,he doesn`t have a bad voice but what the fuck can he do ? He does do a beautiful job on some songs ,he`s cool

The best word I can use to discribe this song and a lot of Damien's others-Beautiful.

The TexanAtheist:You cant compare Damien to Radiohead the styles of music are to different. Having said that you should look for the original videos to some of his songs they tend to be a little different to the acoustic sets.

Surely the purity of the music is the attraction? You say its plain but it just doesn't have a ton of instruments playing in the background so the artist has to shout over them. It certainly isn't fake. Radiohead are great, but they are totally different to Damien Rice so really you can't compare the two. I don't think you can beat a man singing with nothing but a guitar. His voice is awesome The man is a rare talent and we need more like him.

guess that's just a man's taste, right. But I have to admit, I understand a bit what you mean... cause 'Amie' is a song that hops the most in the direction you pointed out (forced). Yet, Damien Rice is an artist who's voice sounds (to me) so fair, so honest, and so unforced, that I can't really agree :D ... it's the fact I love some much bout him: the pure delicateness (? guess the words not right..) of his music. The music goes straight to the hart :)

Hey is there anyone who can do a little explaining to me... how's this recorded? I mean, how many mics were used, one for the guitar and (obviously) one for the voice. 'Cause i'd like to play some free stage numbers of damien in time, yet i need to know how i fix my voice and an acoustic guitar in one fluid record. I mean, if it's free stage I can't go and ask for a special, right? So anyone who's able to explain a bit or to give advice? Thank you, and Damien is absolutely great !
