Thats not what happened at ALL.......it was nothing to do with flaps.....the leading edge was destroyed and airflow over that wing was reduced severely which caused a wing drop,also the procedure at that time in aviation was to reduce engine power in the climb to "not stress" the other engines...the electrics in the wing were destroyed which also that told the pilots that the plane was stalling ....they didt know it.All these factors caused the crash..RIP

Engine 3 broke off and hit engine 4. This hit also damaged the hydraulic system.When the pilots selected flaps for landing, only the flaps on the left wing extended.This caused asymetric lift and the aircraft roled into the ground.

That is the same reason the ELAL 747 crashed in Amsterdam: wing assymetry.

im not surprised that happend. i see that the thrust was at max. usually in these situations it would be 1/2 or minimum.
