if mukasey cant determine wether drowning someone is torture then he deserves no respect what so ever, the bottom line is mukasey is a "yes man", that is why bush chose him, some people that post here have this idea that USA should torture people because the enemy tortures people is ludicrous, bushs torture policy is blantantly hitleresqe

I prefer baboo under the finger nails, then ripping the finger nails off, then let them be humanely shot but no rush.BTW how are our soldiers treated in al qaeda prisons? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY HAVE NONE AND TORTURE, SKIN, BEHEAD AND KILL OUR SOLDIERS IMMEDIATELY UPON CAPTURE??Why are we discussing this?

Leahy only asked if there exists a commander in chief over-ride to alow torture. He should have asked... if such a torture over-ride exists, is it constitionally legal? Very sloppy questioning by Leahy. He might as well have asked what Mukasey's favorite flavor of ice cream is and it would shed equal light on Mukasey's legal views.

It's confirmed - Feingold and Schumer, two Jewish democratic ZIONIST senators, both indicated that they will vote for Mukasey, their coreligionist, despite the firm democratic stance against such a nomination. With the Jewish senators' support, Mukasey is now pretty much one step away from getting the AG position.

I wish I could be confident that Britain would restrain the worst excesses of the Bush administration but we're not much better. It saddens me to say that as I am a Labour supporter but the human rights record of the Blair government was appalling.

...secret prisons, the removal of habeas corpus, a new class of prisoners that there are no laws for (enemy combatants) and so on. We have a bunch of sickies running this government. You Britts might have to rescue us from them.

From what I understand Mr Mukasey is saying the USA does not torture because it goes against everything that you (I am British) believe in.That is reassuring but I would like to hear how this affects the policy of rendition.
