ACC Referee Ron Cherry Explains A Personal Foul Call.

NC State and Maryland both came into this November 24, 2007 football contest needing a sixth win to secure a bowl invitation. By the time the Terps went up 37-0 on the Wolfpack, the NC State players were getting a little "chippy." Particularly the seniors, like Kalani Heppe. He's the left guard, number 69 on this play. Watch him pull out to his left and take down the Maryland corner at the edge, number 2, Kevin Barnes. Keep your eyes on the bottom left of the screen and you'll see Heppe rare back and slug Barnes under the facemask while the two are on the ground. The Raycom announcing crew does it's usual messed-up job of figuring out what exactly the call was... but the star of the play is head referee Ron Cherry, and his classic explanation of this personal foul.

Giving Him The Business is a 15 yard penalty for punching and/or kicking another player.
