Pssh, -points to pretty much all of Alicia Keys' hit songs- Most of those have to do with her life.Your argument just doesn't work. Besides, it's not about Monica. Songs with personal meaning behind them can and WILL relate to people and what THEY themselves have been through. You can't relate to "gimme more" or "drop it like it's hot" on an emotional level.You can however, relate to 'If I Were A Boy' especially if you're a girl.Just some examples. there is a difference between a song about nothing like the Thong Song and a personal song. i can not remember the last time a personal song with specifics about an artist life was a hit record. They are album fillers but not singles. Nobody cares enough about monica at this point that a song about herlife would be a hit .
