anyone have any idea how long it will be until i'm to pre-pointe? i'm almost fifteen and i've been taking ballet for 2 years now and i'm in ballet B. how long do u think it will be? and do u have any tips on improving my turn out?

My Ballet Teacher says that it depends on your muscles ankle and leg strength before you go on pointe not neccesarily how old you are, obviosly you have to be trained.What do you think? plkease reply!!! :)xxx

You aren't too old. You just have to have fully developed ankles and legs to prevent injury. It's completely possible I started ballet when I was 9, then started pointe at twelve and have been doing pointe ever since and I am going on 21.

please before you go on pointe you need to have ballet training. That means taking classes from a real teacher.If you have not done that you should not go on pointe tips wont do you good either Trust me, ballet is difficult and requires close to perfect technique. You can develop serious problems if not done correctly. I am not trying to sound harsh however that is the truth.
