Julian Lennon on John

interview with Julian on his famous father.~1999If you liked this interview check out Cynthia Lennon's recent book, "John". I have so much respect for her and what happened. Julian wrote the foreward for the book. The book describes in detail what she and Julian went through. ..not very nice."Laurel and Hardy, that's John and Yoko. And we stand a better chance under that guise because all the serious people like Martin Luther King and Kennedy and Gandhi got shot." -- John Lennon"Listen, if anything happens to Yoko and me, it was not an accident." -- John Lennon

Thanks. All that world peace line John Lennon pushed on us, and he can't even be a proper parent. His credibility on that is zero.

I guess what's being said here is that John was an asshole deadbeat dad. I suspected that for a long time.

Yea i totally agree about that point - Did he know he was recorded?? He's a strong man and what he says is absolutely beautiful, but the whole thing looks too much like gay video!

What in the world are you talking about? Of course everyone talks about how Linda was in the band. Paul formed Wings with his wife Linda and Denny Laine! Meaning that she was an original band member!! Duh. That's alot different than already having a formed and established band and inviting your wife to come in and sit during studio sessions. C'mon, let's not be ignorant here.

Completely agree with nucyluerbush. Is John supposed to be 'joyful and happy' to make us 'happy'? He had the guts to "see" and open his mouth even when he got a load of shit for it from stupid people. He did great things and unlike Paul didn't have a father. In some ways he was much braver than Paul.

Total load of shit... Paul thought Jane Asher was knocked up.... when he found out she wasn't, he dumped her. Very early Beatles shit there... Paul stuck his wife Linda in his band post Beatles imitating John and Yoko, nobody... not one fucking person really mentions that fact. People vilify Yoko non-stop to this day, yet treat Linda like a fucking saint. Paul had a home, John was orphaned and left hung out to dry like trash, and made the best of it all, probably deluded until he met Yoko.

Yes, he did ~ it was an interview for a video called Pop & Me, made by father & son team Chris & Richard Roe (the two guys interviewing him) ~ interviewing famous father's and sons.

I wonder if John had hard feelings toward Julian because he represented so much of what John was trying to get away from in his past. Looking so much like him and sounding like him and being English.. he chose to smother his American sounding, Asian looking son with all of the love he never had and could never give Julian. It is sad that Julian was not only robbed the chance of knowing his dad, but knowing his half brother.

I like and respect John as an artist. I don't really know how messed up he was in his private life, and no one really will. But Paul is my favorite Beatle, for many of the reasons that John messed up. John mom died. John messed up. Paul's mom died, Paul still stayed happy and optimistic. John divorced and leaves son and wife. Julian said once that he saw Paul more than his own father.. John let his demons beat him. Paul has let things go in his life and has remained joyful and happy
