He May Be a Communist
***NOTE: This film is an outdated piece of government propaganda. It is presented here for historical interest. It is not necessary to decry or "expose" this video in the comments as being a piece of propaganda, as this is openly acknowledged by most people.***In this set of clips, Americans are shown how to spot Communists. For example: "If a person consistently reads and advocates the views expressed in a Communist publication, he may be a Communist. If a person defends the activities of Communist nations while consistently attacking the domestic and foreign policies of the United States, she may be a Communist.[...] If a person does all these things, over a period of time, he MUST be a Communist!" The video also goes on to demonstrate the evils of Communists stealing your daughter away to work on a collective farm.

Fascism is state control of the means of production. It's YOU who is calling for that. Americans do not mindlessly conform to any asshat who preaches subjugation to "the collective good." Real Americans debunk these preachers through rational debate. Men better than you secured your right to the freedom of speech. Men better than you will criticize you for holding ideas which violate the rights of others.Hey man, the Borg Cube called. They need you to come back up and join The Collective.

Regarding the actual film clip, I love how carrying a protest sign which criticizes the Klu Klux Klan throws suspicion on one for being a Communist. Ah, those were the days...

and now your just beginning to sound like a fascist. Predjudice to someone whos opinion differs from your own, yeah, real amercian. your ideology is driven by corruption and greed and you make yourself sound like a real ass, its obvious your closeminded attitude isnt going to change anytime soon and my attempt to let you see what a real american is has faled due to it.

Socialism is anti-American-it rejects individual rights. Socialism rejects voluntary trade-the origin of our wealth. Instead of these American virtues, socialism embraces the disgusting ideal of altruism-it forces men to sacrifice each other to "society." As long as you believe you have a right to "help the less fortunate" at the expense of those who have "gotten to a certain point of comfort," you cannot claim to be ethical, or American. You are socialist slime and a threat to your neighbor.
raztis1 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
where do you get off saying someone who is socialist isnt amercian, america means freedom of ideas. and here lies your hipocracy. religion, which most right wingers believe is truth, sais that greed is a sin, and it is. to say "i dont want to have to give up some of mine to help less fortunate" is a belief that only douchebags and pieces of shit believe. See i am an american, and i believe that, as long as i can get to a point of comfort, the less fortunate can have the rest = im better than you

This is the difference between Americans and socialists: Americans are not afraid to claim what they have earned. When individual rights are not infringed, where is the evil in "greed?" I AM greedy--and proud of it. I want more health, more comfort, more wealth. And I'm going to earn it through work which provides these same things to others willing to trade with me. You call this evil. You think it's ethical to end peaceful trade and impose your will to "save society."Get out of our way.

everything you say is coming off as typical capitalist propaganda. i dont believe in robbing anything, i believe in people working together as a group, for the group, not people working for "individuals" which really just means MYSELF.. yup, more greed. I believe in rights, and competition, personally i believe in mixing the two, capitalism for luxuries, and socialism for necessities like school and health. ps. we are 18th in schools, and 24th in health, the top tiers... socialists..
nawtdavids (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Is there anything more greedy and selfish than a socialist: someone who thinks he has the right to rob his neighbor of his property to construct his arbitrary and illusional vision of society, and then forces his neighbor to live in it? No. You are immoral. Capitalism is the system of individual rights, and property rights. It protects citizens from people like you--tin pot dictators who pretend to know what's best for all the people who don't have access to their "noble vision."
